Portland Comedy Film Festival 2018 At Avalon Theatre

Independent Films Screening At Avalon Theatre

Avalon Theatre, established as the Sunnyside Theatre in 1912, is the oldest operating movie theater in Portland, Oregon for all ages. Combined with a video game arcade that features $0.05 games. The Avalon Theatre is commonly referred to as the Portland nickel arcade, but many people do not realize that this is a great place to watch movies as well. Although, it's not quite a dollar theater in Portland, the films are usually less than $5 each for really good 2nd run films. Check out the Avalon Theatre Wunderland Games website for more details about the games, policies and screen times.

Two Giant Theater Screens Inside One Cool Venue

Each room at the Avalon Theatre holds approximately 75 people. Several Film Festival events presented by Film Festival Circuit LLC have sold out multiple sessions on both screens for three years. The Oregon Documentary Film Festival, and Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival Oregon Short Film Festival and Portland Comedy Film Festival have had huge, fun nights at this venue. Sometimes, we even have to provide additional seating on the side with benches, to accommodate so many people walking up and purchasing tickets at the last minute. The Avalon Theatre is a short walk away from the Soma Kombucha Taproom, Bar Circa 33 and the HobNob Grille. All three venues have hosted filmmaker networking sessions and awards shows for several film festivals in our network.
