The Filmmakers Network and FilmFestivalCircuit.com is inviting you to a Zoom meeting with filmmakers from around the world. We will discuss networking opportunities during the pandemic, advice on how to get the most out of attending a film festival, and working the room during an industry conference.
Our special guests are producers Jose Luis "JL" Martinez and Antonio Piedra, Producer.
As Founder and President of Lucky Seventeen Entertainment, Jose Luis "JL" Martinez has consulted, produced, and executive produced several media campaigns, to hours of short format content for a new family friendly video app, to the launching of Hialeah Park Studios, a premiere filming location, production hub, and base camp at an Historic venue in Hialeah, centrally located in the heart of Miami-Dade County.Their recent feature film productions include the upcoming Critical Thinking directed by and starring John Leguizamo, Marcus featuring Paul Wight aka WWE's The Big Show, and Miami Heat, co-starring former WWE star Vladimir Kozlov aka "Oleg Prudius" and Olivier Richters aka "The Dutch Giant."
JL is also the co-founder and creative director of the Miami Media and Film Market (MMFM), a leading business development conference and market connecting the Florida media and entertainment industry to the global industry and market.
Antonio Piedra is a Latin American producer, director, screenwriter and filmmaker. He began his career in the television industry, writing, producing and directing commercials and infomercials. Antonio produced commercials for clients including Toyota, Chevrolet, National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Bank Atlantic.
Antonio later rose to prominence producing music videos for some of the biggest artists of the time. He has produced music videos for artists like Pitbull, Shaggy, Missy Elliott, Lumidee, Ricardo Montaner, Shaquile O’neil, and Kymani Marley garnishing nominations for best music video from BET and MTV. Impressed with Antonio’s music videos, he was approached to join the producing team for Shottas which was eventually distributed by Sony Pictures becoming a critically acclaimed cult classic. In recent years, he produced several films including Lost Everything and continues to produce and direct.
William Garcia is an award-winning producer based in Los Angeles, California, with over thirty years experience in the feature film and television production industry. His clients include; TLC, Warner Media, Sony Entertainment, Animal Planet, Republic Records, MTV Tr3s, and AWE Network. William has produced over a thousand hours of programming for television and independent feature films. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America. William Garcia is the founder of Filmmakers Network.
Also joining us is Mikel Fair, the founder of FilmFestivalCircuit.com. Mikel is a director of 8 film festivals in Oregon and Texas. He is also the author of the ebook "Film Festival Submitter's Handbook," which offers tips and guidance for filmmakers package and prepare their creative work for submission on the Film Festival Circuit.
